However, this is official Muscovites narrative. We’ve reached a point where a clear distinction ought to be made between “Russia” and Moscow. For past thee hundred years it has been cultural appropriation by Moscow to claim the exclusive rights for all Russians. It’s time to recognize and appreciate the rights of other eastern Slavs. At the same time, we should call Moscovites by their name. The Ukrainians and Poles still use the old
term “Moskal”.
